In previous years, the committee accomplished many of its original objectives by publishing a series of reports on safety and health effects of various types of fat and oil. During 2000, the Committee published a Japanese translation of the ILSI Europe Concise Monograph Dietary Fat. Since it has achieved many of its goals, the committee has decided to terminate its activities and be merged into the Functional Food Research Committee for further investigation on components of fats and oils.
