Nutrition and Aging Committee

Contact: ILSI Japan Staff

This committee has published the proceedings of the 3rd International Symposium on Nutrition and Aging held in September last year through Kenpakusha publisher on a commercial basis. The committee reviewed its goals and past activities, and planned for its future direction. The committee has decided to reform its structure and activities to focus on the Kenko Nippon 21, Healthy Japanese for the 21st Century. This 10-year project has just begun for the purpose of reducing life style-related diseases. The committee's activities will be closely related to those undertaken by the Center for Health Promotion in Japan (CHP Japan). The committee organized the last session of a series of forums on The Science of Good Flavor and cosponsored a workshop on Risk Assessment on Micronutrients held during the annual meeting of the Japanese Society of Food and Nutrition Science. This was highly appreciated by the society because the science on risk assessment was quite new to the nutrition field and will be critical in developing the dietary reference intake for the Japanese.
